Print Two of the Generose Series

Painted slowly, one breath at a time.

During my hospitalization at Generose Hospital, I became more aware of how often I unconsciously hold my breath when overwhelmed, only realizing it when a deep sigh finally releases the tension. While creating this piece, I stayed mindful of each inhale and exhale, allowing my brush to move slowly and flow.

I didn’t set out to paint a specific place, only to create with colors that felt calm and expansive. My heart has longed for the outdoors while anhedonia and fatigue have left me too tired to go anywhere, or even step out my door most days.

This landscape became a place my spirit could wander.

Breathe is an invitation to soften, release tension, and remember that presence often begins with something as simple as breathing.
