Ruminate encompasses the mind circling back, again and again, tracing thoughts like beaten paths.

Returning to the same questions. Replaying what has already happened. Searching for a way to undo, repair, or change what cannot be changed. Looping, reaching, searching endlessly for relief.

Rumination often feels like movement without progress. Like an urgent attempt to find resolution, create safety, and quiet the unknown.

Yet, the more we chase an answer, the more exhausted we become.

The repeated lines reflect these returning thoughts, familiar, persistent, and difficult to release. The blue watercolor washes offer a gentle counterpoint, representing moments of clarity, acceptance, and the quiet serenity that emerges once we soften our grip of attempted control.

This piece explores the tension between effort and surrender, and the quiet hope that peace can exist, even without resolution.
